But when they passed Wilson’s garage, Daisy in order to avoid another car and hit Myrtle, who was killed instantly. Coordination services among internal programs and other providers will cultivate positive results, in strengthening client’s ability to achieve his goal and overcome his problems. The initial intervention plan is to replace client’s problem behaviors with positive behavior by highlighting his strengths and providing meaningful reinforcements. For instance, client often gets angry with his mother or peers, to solve this situation client can be taught strategies to understand and manage his anger in a positive way. Due to the wide variety of populations that social workers interact with throughout their careers, it is important that they are knowledgeable about the unique lived experiences of their clients. It is also pertinent that social workers are informed about the overarching systems that their clients are involved in, as well as the policies that have a significant influence on their clients’ lives. In his book, Crazy, Pete Earley has presented a detailed examination of a population that he has a personal connection to: individuals with serious mental illness (SMI). Earley, a former news reporter, described his experiences interviewing stakeholders in the mental health and criminal justice systems in hopes to shed light on the injustices†¦show more content†¦A majority of the book involves an examination of the debate between advocates for patients’ right to adequate treatment and advocates for patient’s civil rights. Another one of Earley’s major arg uments was that jails were not suitable environments for individuals with SMI. He found that inmates were being shuffled between jails, psychiatric hospitals, and courts. Through his observations, and interviews, Earley determined that jails were not equipped to treat individuals with SMI. Thus, these individuals were never actually being rehabilitated. Overall, Earley’s arguments were consistent with the idea that individuals with SMI should be receiving consistent treatment. His personal experiences with his son seemed to have a significant influence on his beliefs about individuals with SMI, as he assumed that individuals with SMI did not have insight into severity of their own mental illnesses. His arguments mostly stemmed from his role as a parent struggling to navigate the mental health and criminal justice systems as a result of a crime committed by his son. In this system of payment, teachers are compensated based on their education attainment and individual skill levels. Teachers receive a pay increase as a reward after reaching certain education, skills development and training goals (Bradley, 1995). If such a system is implemented, teachers would get incentives to improve their levels of education and skills. Even though the skills and knowledge of teachers reflect on the performance of the students, some teachers would concentrate more on self-improvement and fail to work hard on making students perform. This would lead to the current pay system. School- based compensation is also a performance- based model where financial rewards are group based. According to Busher and Saran (2013), rewards in this model are allowed in accordance to the performance of students. In this pay strategy, the performance of students is used to evaluate schools through added value gains to the scores of students or absolute achievement of the students. Once a school is determined to have high performance, all the teachers from that school are financially rewarded. In addition, the teacher can work individually to raise the performance of his/her students and get rewarded for it. Also, the whole school does not have to perform in order for the individual teacher to be compensated. This would ensure that the current teachers who are not eager to see students perform get no rewards. In order to implement this model, the national examination body would release information on improvements that have been made to the body that pays the teachers in Kazakhstan.
